Physical Attributes:
- Shape: Medium sized, oblong
- Skin: Pale lime green-yellow, sometimes blushed, and somewhat prominent white lenticels
- Flesh: Pale yellow, quite crisp and fine-grained
Taste:
Aromatic and fragrant, pear-like, pineapple, and honeyed flavours. Needs good growing conditions, otherwise it'll taste flavourless.
Neat History
This apple was part of the same experiment as the Mutsu (Golden Delicious x Indo, 1952 Aomori, Japan), but ended with a completely different, and excellent result. 王林 is the Japanese name, which translates as Orin, and can be interpreted as King of the Apples (trees).
