Physical Attributes:
- Shape: Medium-large, flattish round
- Skin: Greenish base with a thick, bright red skin. Waxy when ripe; bruises easily
- Flesh: Pale yellow with rosy tint. Fine-grained and firm
Flavour:
Sprightly, tangy, moderately acidic, somewhat mild. Produces beautiful, red-coloured sauce and juice. Intense apple flavour but it diminishes with storage.
Neat History:
Developed by Leif Verner in 1935, released by University of Idaho in 1942. Cross of Jonathan x Wagener. It is one of the fifteen most popular apple cultivars in the United States of America.
