Physical Attributes:
- Shape: Medium-large, round-conical
- Skin: Red orange blush over thin yellow skin
- Flesh: Ivory to creamy. Crisp and firm
Flavour:
Aromatic, spiced citrus peels, pears and pineapples with an intense, heady flavour and deep orange-yellow coloured juice.
Neat History:
Raised in secret in the backyard garden of an art teacher named Johannes Vahldiek in Eutin, Schleswig-Holstein, but only found after his death (1914-1920ish). It is very prolific in the area, having received national recognition in 1959 and is regional specialty cooked with cabbage.
