Physical Attributes:
- Shape: Medium-sized, round oblong
- Skin: Orange base with red streaks and tan lenticels
- Flesh: Buttery, dense, yellow
Flavour:
Aromatic balance of spice notes, citrus, tropical fruit and a delightful sharpness. Excellent flavour that improves with storage, especially after one month.
Neat History:
Identified in Esopus New York sometime between 1770-1790. This cultivar has a brief cameo in American author Herman Melville's 1853 short story Bartleby, the Scrivener
